It offers plenty of legroom for all five of its passengers, and storage and cargo space provides an advantage over sedans or hatchbacks in a similar price range. The Equinox also delivers when it comes to comfort, providing a smooth ride on all kinds of road conditions as well as well-shaped seating for those long vacation drives. To find out, we have compiled this 2020 Chevy Equinox Trim Level Buyers Guide to help decide which Equinox is right for you.

Overview

The five-passenger 2020 Chevy Equinox is offered in four different trim levels: the L, LS, LT, and Premier, and is available with a choice of two engines. The standard offering is a turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder generating 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, which is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The second option is a more powerful turbocharged 2.0L at 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, which comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. There’s also a hidden storage compartment underneath the rear floor, which will not only keep your gear organized but will also keep it safe and secure.

In regards to safety, families (and everyone) can take comfort in the fact that the Equinox has received the lowest rate of reported problems among any compact SUV in the J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Initial Quality (based on 2019 vehicles) and Vehicle Dependability Studies (based on 2016 vehicles). These ratings are based on the observations of real owners, who also report that the Equinox bested the competition when it came to initial and long-term quality.

The 2020 Chevy Equinox is a very fun vehicle to drive, and its turbo engine option provides a bit more power for the performance-minded driver.
