What We Know Do Far About the 2021 Chevy Tahoe
In an auto-landscape filled with SUVs, the Chevy Tahoe reigns supreme. Last year’s 2020 model blew expectations out of the water by once again offering a Chevy SUV that delivered not only a comfortable driving experience but one that offered the latest in auto technology and a powertrain that simply didn’t quit. While the 2020 Chevy Tahoe continues to be a heavy hitter here at Frank Kent Chevrolet, our team is incredibly curious as to what we should expect in the 2021 Chevy Tahoe. At Frank Kent Chevrolet, we have our finger to the Chevy pulse and are always sure to distill all of the latest news and dish it out to our customers. Whether you’re buying a new Chevy vehicle, or are simply a big fan of the brand, our sales team can give you the inside scoop of the latest Chevy models and can show you how you can take one of these great vehicles home with you.
The 2020 Chevy Tahoe
Visit our showroom, and chances are you won’t walk too far without running into the 2020 Chevy Tahoe. In 2019, this incredible Chevy SUV was the talk of our dealership, offering some seriously stellar interior cabin comforts and the kind of power to back it all up. Before we delve into what we know so far about the 2021 Chevy Tahoe, we figured it justified to give you a brief snapshot of what the 2020 model brought to the table.
We couldn’t talk about the 2020 Chevy Tahoe without first mentioning the amount of space drivers and passengers are able to take advantage of. In typical fashion, the Chevy Tahoe has three-rows of seating with plenty of leg and headroom between them. While great at transporting passengers, the 2020 Chevy Tahoe was truly a champ when it came to cargo space. When all three rows of seating are folded, you’ll find an almost cavernous 95 cubic feet of cargo space to utilize; this is the kind of cargo room that you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.
The 2020 Chevy Tahoe is a huge vehicle, one of the largest in 2019, that said, it comes with plenty of horsepower and torque to back it all up. No matter what model of the 2020 Chevy Tahoe you purchase, you get a 5.3-liter V8 as the standard engine, which is responsible for up to 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. This standard V8 also utilizes a 6-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. And if the 5.3-liter isn’t big enough for you, you could upgrade to the 6.2-liter V8, which gets up to an astounding 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, all with the help of four-wheel drive.
Speaking of equipment, the 2020 Chevy Tahoe is also well-equipped with technology that made every model feel like a vehicle straight from the future. The 2020 Chevy Tahoe sported dual-zone climate control, five USB ports, a power driver’s seat, and an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen display that utilized Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to make syncing with your smartphone utterly seamless. These features are only the beginning for the 2020 Chevy Tahoe. Upgrade to higher trims, and you get an even better package that includes things like a DVD entertainment system, a power moonroof, heated and cooled leather seats, a Bose audio system, as well as a full-suite of safety features which include everything from automatic high-beams to automatic emergency braking.
The 2020 Chevy Tahoe is an all-around incredible full-size SUV that brings power, utility, and plenty of technology into a package that is affordable and, most of all, fun to drive. With the promise of a 2021 model though, our team is beginning to look forward to how Chevy promises to push the envelope and offer an even better driving experience.
What to Expect in the 2021 Chevy Tahoe
With 2019 behind us, it is time to introduce a new line of Chevy vehicles. While we’re still a ways out from the official release of the 2021 Chevy Tahoe, which ought to go on sale sometime in the middle of 2020, there is a lot that we already know. For one, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe is expected to be just as big, if not bigger than the 2020 model.
The lineup of the 2021 Chevy Tahoe is expected to introduce more trims than were on the 2020 model. The 2021 model will have six trims, the LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. The 2020 model came in three trims, the LS, LT, and Premier.
In terms of performance, drivers can expect a revamped driving experience thanks to the addition of an independent rear suspension. Potential buyers should also be on notice that a diesel 3.0-liter V6 engine will be joining the pair of V8 engines offered in last year’s model. This third diesel alternative is quite the performer, with a promise of 460 lb-ft of torque, making it an ideal off-road engine. On top of that, all models of the 2021 Chevy Tahoe will come with a zippy 10-speed automatic transmission, which we expect will make for an even more responsive driving experience. Fuel economy will also be improved thanks to auto stop/start technology. While we don’t have the exact fuel economy ratings just yet, we’re looking forward to seeing just what this additional feature can do for gas mileage in such a large SUV.
As we mentioned before the interior is changing, and in a big way. While the 2020 model certainly provides plenty in the way of cargo space, the bigger 2021 model will sport almost a full 123 cubic feet of total cargo space. As a result, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe will be in tight competition with it’s bigger counterpart, the Chevy Suburban. On top of a bigger cabin, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe will also feature more technology than ever before. Buyers can expect to choose from a myriad of new features, including a dazzling digital gauge-cluster display, wireless phone charging, and head-up display and so much more. And contrary to the 2020 model, the Chevy Tahoe will come with standard active safety features, including forward-collision warnings and automatic emergency braking.
The new 2021 Chevy Tahoe is shaping up to be an incredible ride, and while you may not see it in our showroom until later in the year, you can certainly expect our team of auto professionals to be talking a lot about this new full-sized SUV.
