When it’s time to search for Chevy trucks for sale at your local dealerships, it’s important to take a close look at the Chevy truck lineup and try to determine which model will work best for you. To help get you started, we’ll compare the Colorado, Silverado, and Silverado 2500HD. While each of these vehicles leads their class in nearly every category, only one can be the perfect choice for you.
The Chevy Colorado is a compact truck known for its impressive fuel efficiency and class-leading performance. Compared to other vehicles in the compact pickup truck class, the Chevy Colorado offers a much higher level of power and capability with up to 308 hp and a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 LBS on its newest model. In terms of efficiency, the Chevy Colorado produces fuel economy ratings of up to 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. These numbers help make the Chevy Colorado an extremely versatile option among Chevy trucks for sale. However, the Colorado is also suitable for drivers looking for a high level of power and capability with great fuel efficiency and maneuverability than a larger pickup truck.
The Chevy Silverado 1500 is one of the most popular pickup trucks of all time. It is powerful, capable, and advanced. On its 2019 model, the Chevy Silverado 1500 produces up to 420 hp and offers a high maximum towing capacity of over 12,500 LBS. The Chevy Silverado 1500 is not as efficient as the compact Colorado; however, it still earns high fuel economy ratings at up to 20 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. For the interior, the Silverado offers plenty of standard technology including a 7-inch touchscreen display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on its base model. A long list of available entertainment features are also available, as well as premium safety, luxury, and convenience features. Overall, the Chevy Silverado 1500 is a great option for drivers looking for plenty of power and onboard technology.
Sometimes you only need more power. Thankfully, drivers looking for Chevy trucks for sale will also have Chevy’s Heavy-Duty models to choose from, which includes the Chevy Silverado 2500HD. This vehicle offers a tremendous amount of power and capability, as shown by its maximum towing capacity of 15,400 LBS powered by 445 hp and 910 lb-ft torque. The Chevy Silverado 2500HD is an excellent choice for drivers looking to tow large work or recreational equipment who still want all of the onboard technology and convenience of the Silverado 1500.

If you are looking to make a day out of your visit to the Waxahachie-Dallas-Fort Worth area, after purchasing a new vehicle, you are in luck, because there are so many things to do. Whether you are looking for a good fishing spot, great scenery, parks for hiking and biking, a place to play or to get spooked, there is something for everyone to enjoy. So let’s take a look at the many activities offered in the Waxahachie area.
If you’re coming from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, you might want to unwind at Lake Waxahachie in Waxahachie and do a little fishing. Lake Waxahachie is a beautiful, tree-lined 656-acre clear-water lake where you are sure to see the prettiest sunsets in the state of Texas. But don’t come just for the scenery.
Lake Waxahachie is known for its excellent fishing too. Like we said, this is a clear-water lake, so it’s filled to the gills with largemouth bass, white bass, blue catfish, channel catfish, and crappie—all just waiting to be caught. We recommend starting at one of the three access points on the lake’s north shore. All three spots feature a paved boat ramp.
You will want to get there as early as possible as there are limited parking spaces. Even If you’re not in the mood for fishing, though, you can still enjoy the lake. Head over to Spring Park, where you can swim and kayak, or just hang out at the beach.
While you are out this way, check out the historic architecture. Ellis County Courthouse's pink granite and red sandstone walls, stately arches, and ornate clock tower are something to behold. It’s no surprise that the Ellis County Courthouse is considered by many as one of the most photogenic buildings in Texas. The courthouse was built in 1895 and is one of the best examples of the Richardsonian Romanesque style of architecture. Though amazing, the courthouse is not the only example of fine architecture in town.
Stop by the downtown square and check out the many historic shops and restaurants, especially the Sims Library, which was one of the first public libraries in the state, built in 1904. For a guided and historical perspective of the historic buildings and neighborhoods, take the Gingerbread Trail Home Tour that features many examples of Victorian architecture and Gingerbread homes.
You can also explore the heart of Waxahachie and the historic downtown district, with its charming antique shops and boutique clothing stores. Dine at unique restaurants, or simply take in the incredible 19th-century architecture. The opportunities in downtown are endless.
If you are looking to get some exercise, you will want to visit the Waxahachie Creek Hike and Bike Trail. This is a six-mile trail that is great for jogging and biking, as it meanders along a slow-flowing creek and through scenic woods. The trail starts in Getzendaner Park and ends on the south side of town. Most of the path runs along Waxahachie Creek, passing Waxahachie Rodeo Complex, Rogers Street Bridge, and an old cemetery aging back to the 1800s.
A small section of the trail is built on an abandoned railroad grade, and the eastern half of the trail runs along an abandoned rail line and the active Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Line. Access for the trail, as well as parking, can be found at Rogers Street, and Getzendaner Park.
If you visit in the summertime heat, there the splash-pads are a great place to cool down. Located in the center of the city of Waxahachie, at the George Brown Plaza, you will find great fun with the splash-pads, which is one of the latest and greatest and crazy trends in the area.
Stop by and pass under the splash-pads and cool off as you take a break from your activities. Watch the kids have a blast splashing around in the fountains and relax in the Texas sun. You will be surprised how much fun taking a stroll around town can be when water is involved.
If you want some fun games and even more water than the splash-pads, Breeze Waterpark and Paintball in Waxahachie is an excellent place to do so. Here, you can take your friends, form teams, and engage the whole family in the competition. The paintball grounds are expansive, just waiting for you to go to battle to conquer the other team’s flag. Whether you are a new or advanced player, you are welcome at Breeze Waterpark and Paintball. And once you’re done conquering paintball, head over to the waterpark and cool off for a full day of fun in the sun.
Craving something sweet after a day of fun? Head on over to Waxahachie’s Bittersweet Bakery. Known for their heavenly cake and cupcakes, you’ll find crazy customized cakes full of every flavor and color imaginable. Bittersweet Bakery features signature, award-winning cakes for sale and also prepares cakes or treats for weddings and other occasions.
But if cakes are not your thing, try 77 Donuts—it is sure to steal your heart. Located right next to the 77th highway, you’ll find a wide variety of different donuts. The hardest part is deciding which donuts to choose! You’ll have to try specialty donuts like the burger donut, and you are sure to appreciate the super-friendly staff. They will make you feel comfortable and welcome from the very first moment you walk in. Feel free to eat your donuts there or take them for the road.
If you happen to be in Waxahachie around October, you are in for a treat, especially if you enjoy getting scared. If you do, you will have to check out Screams in Waxahachie. It’s a unique theme park—all about Halloween—and it will make you scream in fear and excitement. This park hosts mythical characters, historical figures, movie heroes, and zombies.
Actual actors work at the park, and their only job is to make you scream, while also engaging everyone in various scenarios and games. It is a great way to celebrate Halloween. With five haunted houses, each with a different theme, you are sure to find something that terrifies you. See the witches of TerraMythica Castle, PT Harmum’s Carnival of Chaos, Captain Barbarosa’s Blood Harbor, Hotel D’Feers, and the Zombie Wasteland . . . Apocalypse.
You can also meet the full cast of haunting characters roaming around the park; they are sure to find you when you least expect it. And when you need a break from being scared, you can check out the food court and pub. However, always be alert because you never know when someone might try to make you scream.
There is no denying the fact that the Waxahachie area has tons of places to visit. No matter the kind of activity you are looking for - adventure, relaxation, or a spook - you are sure to find it around here. In fact, you may want to make a weekend out of it so that you can really enjoy everything the area has to offer.
